Delete your Althena Care account

You can ask us to delete your account and your data at any time. Removing the app from your phone does not delete your account.

How to ask

  1. In the app, open Settings and tap Delete my account. Or email [email protected] with the subject "Delete my account", and include the phone number you use to sign in to Althena Care. Don't send anything else about your health.
  2. We'll confirm the request is really yours by contacting you on that phone number before anything is deleted.
  3. We'll tell you when it's done, within 30 days of confirming.

You can also ask your clinician to end your care with them, which stops Andrea and closes your link to that hospital.

What we delete

  • Your account and profile: phone number, name, date of birth and language.
  • Your conversations with Andrea, their summaries, and what Andrea remembers about you.
  • Your mood and sleep check-ins and their notes.
  • Your reminder settings and consent choices.

What may be kept, and why

WhatWhyFor how long
Records your hospital must keep about your careMedical record-keeping rules that apply to your hospital3 years after your care ends, or longer if your hospital's rules require it
Payment recordsTax and accounting law8 years

Anything we keep is kept only for that reason and deleted when the period ends.

Turning off one thing instead

If you only want to stop something, such as Andrea remembering things or check-in reminders, you can turn it off in the app's Settings without deleting your account.
